Courses: Banksman & Slinger

The Banksman and Slinger course is for anyone who carries out lifting operations, inspections of lifting gear and/or who plans lifting operations og heavy equipment/items. The course includes both theoretical and practical training where the students will be introduced to a wide range of lifting and slinging standards, assessment, equipment and practices.

All students will be theoretically and practically evaluated throughout the course. Our experienced instructors will ensure that the students will become well equipped to carry out any Banksman and Slinger tasks at hand.

Upon course completion the student will have obtained knowledge of:

  • Laws and regulations
  • Definitions and responsibilities
  • Lifting equipment - Lifting equipment inspections
  • Lift planning and briefing (lift supervisor)
  • How to select lifting equipment
  • Proper use of lifting gear and the like
  • Banksman and slinger methods - Hand Signals (cf.Health and Safety (Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 L64)
  • Lifting loads

This is a customer-specific course, adapted to meet each customer's specific needs and challenges. The Banksman and Slinger certificate is valid for 2 years.
