The training shall provide competence in:
- Mob boat
- MOB boat technical
- Maneuvering
- Navigation
- Communication
- Search and rescue
- Night-search
- Search and rescue and HLO
- Search and rescue
- Use of extinguishing agents
- Protective equipment
- Weather reporting, communication and routines
- Dangerous goods
- Aviation fuel
- Emergency situations and normal operations on a helicopter deck
After completing the training, the participant shall be able to:
- Mob boat
- Be able to launch, dock, operate the boat and equipment in a satisfactory manner
- Master the most common search methods
- Perform person recovery in the water and be able to perform the functions of the MOB boat crew
- Search and rescue and HLO
- Conduct search and rescue with the correct use of extinguishing and protective equipment
- Use the correct extinguishing and protective equipment to extinguish a fire
- Use protective and breathing air equipment correctly, as well as perform safety checks of equipment
- Use the helideck manual
- Perform communication and weather reporting with helicopter
- Handle dangerous goods
- Describe and perform supervision of the fuel system
- Perform HLO's tasks in emergency situations and normal operations on the helideck
Mob boat basic course, Search and rescue team and HLO basic course.
Personnel who have a smoke diver function in search and rescue teams must provide valid documentation of a health examination and physical tests (fitness test and strength requirements). Ref. Offshore Norway's guidance
This course can be completed as a combination course with Offshore Norway's Helicopter Landing Officer refresher course and search and rescue refresher course, the duration of the course is then 3 days.
- 1 course day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours of effective teaching
- 1 hour is 60 minutes
Night-search is carried out in the evening, after dark.
The e-learning must be completed before the practical course days.
