The training shall provide competence in:

  • Risk understanding and barriers
  • First aid
  • Helicopter evacuation
  • Fire protection
  • Evacuation means
  • Use of survival suit at sea

After completing the training, the participant must be able to:

  • Describe risk factors and identify barriers
  • Contribute to increased safety on offshore installations
  • Perform life-saving first aid
  • Evacuate from helicopter
  • Prevent fires and put out smaller fires
  • Evacuate from offshore facilities in escape chute and raft
  • Wear a survival suit at sea


Prerequisites


The following are approved as knowledge requirement:

  • Basic safety course
  • STCW Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1) Approved by National Maritime Authority
  • OPITO 5700 - Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Emergency Breathing System (EBS)
  • OPITO 5858 - Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) with Emergency Breathing System (EBS).

Certified maritime personnel who have completed HUET at a Offshore Norway qualified course provider during the last 60 months do not need to complete topic 3.0 Helicopter evacuation.



Duration


Duration of the course is 2 days.

  • 1 day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours effectiv training
  • 1 hour is 60 minutes.


Target audience


Shelf-working personnel. Basic safety course repetition must be completed within 4 years after completing the basic course.
