This course meets the requirements for Safety training for seafarers on ships with a length (L) of less than 24 meters in the small coastal shipping area.
In principle, the course does not provide sufficient safety training for seafarers on:
- Cargo ship with length (L) over 24 metres
- Cargo ships with gross tonnage over 500
- Cargo ships in larger traffic areas than small coastal traffic
- Passenger ship with passenger certificate for 13 or more passengers
- Fishing vessels regardless of size and speed range
The topics in the course are based on the STCW Convention's rule VI, Section A-VI/1 and tables A-VI/1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and 1-4, but the content and scope are adapted to ships of length (L) under 24 meters in speed area small coastal speed or less.
After completing the course, you will have knowledge of:
- Personal rescue techniques
- Preventive fire protection and fire extinguishing
- Basic first aid
- Personal safety and care for human life and the environment

The duration of the course is 3.5 days.

- 1 school hour is 45 minutes
Seafarers who are included in the emergency preparedness plan on board vessels with a length (L) of less than 24 meters in the small coastal shipping area.
