Medical first aid is provided in accordance with Regulation VI/4, Sections A-VI/4 and Table A-VI/4-1 of the STCW Convention and contains theoretical and practical instruction.
After completing the course, the participant must have knowledge of:
- Lifesaving first aid
- Medicine chest
- Anatomy and physiology
- Toxicology
- Patient examination
- Back injuries
- Burns
- Fractures
- Treatment of rescued persons
- Radio Medico
- Pharmacology
- Sterilization
- Cardiac arrest
- Psychology
Course participants must have completed basic safety training before participating in the course.
Duration of the course is 3 days.
- 1 day is 8 school hours
- 1 school hour is 45 minutes.
