Every year, many fires occur in connection with the performance of hot work. Those who perform hot work must understand what poses a fire risk and be able to perform the work in such a way that fire does not occur. Through the Security Regulations for hot work, the insurance companies impose requirements for a certificate for the execution of hot work.
Hot works are works where machines and equipment generate sparks and heat are used that can lead to fire. Hot works include the use of open flame, hot air, welding, cutting and/or grinding equipment.
The certification course includes theoretical training, practical extinguishing exercise and a final written exam.
Completed course with passing exam and completed extinguishing exercise provides a certificate for hot work issued by the Norwegian Fire Protection Association. The certificate has a duration of five years.
