The course is designed for personnel who hold a valid Basic Safety Course in accordance with Norwegian oil and gas, and who want to build on this in order to receive a Basic Safety Course for seafarers.
The course contains:
- Emergencies
- Evacuation
- Lifeboats and lifeboats
- Personal rescue equipment
- Personal rescue techniques
- Minimize risk of fire
- Preparedness to respond to fire
- Use of fire extinguishers and fire equipment
- Precautions when using fixed fire extinguishing systems
- Use of smoke diving equipment for fire fighting
- General first aid principles
- The body's structure and functions
- Positioning of casualties
- Unconsciousness
- Principles for resuscitation attempts
- Bleeding, treatment of shock, burns and chemical burns
- Transport of injured
- Other first aid topics
Passed course results in Certificate of proficiency for Basic safety course for seafarers.
Participants must be able to document a valid Basic Safety and Emergency Preparedness Course according to Offshore Norway (Norwegian Oil and Gas)' syllabus.
Duration of the course: 3 days
- 1 day is 8 school hours
- 1 school hour is 45 minutes
