The training shall provide competence in:

  • Introduction to first aid
  • Respiratory and respiratory function (A + B)
  • Circulatory failure (C), fractures and IV-fluid treatment
  • Level of consciousness (D) and acute medical conditions
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Hypothermia, burns and electrical damage
  • The trauma patient - head, neck and back injury (ABCDE)

After completing the training, the participant must be able to:

  • Perform basic life-saving first aid in case of serious injury and illness
  • Assist the nurse in examining and treating patients


Prerequisites


Knowledge requirement: First Aid basic training or Medical first aid according to STCW table A-VI/4-1.



Duration


Duration of the course is 2 days.

  • 1 day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours effective training
  • 1 hour is 60 minutes.
