The plan includes the requirements set out in the STCW convention's rule VI, section A-VI/1 and tables A-VI/1-1, 1-2 and 1-3.
- Personal rescue techniques
- Preventive fire protection and fire extinguishing
- Basic first aid
The first day of the course is conducted as self-study on e-learning outside the training centre, and the last is conducted as practical training at the training centre.
The e-learning can be completed when it suits you best, as long as it is completed before you attend the practical day.
Knowledge requirements are a valid certificate of proficiency for basic safety courses (issued according to the STCW-1978 convention rule VI/I with associated tables). If the competence has expired, 12 months of sea serviceĀ must be documented with a valid certificate of competance or course. The sea service time is calculated 5 years back from the start date of the new course.
Duration of e-learning approx. 5 hours.
The practical day consists of 1 day at the course centre.
1 day at the course center is 8 school hours
1 school hour is 45 minutes
The e-learning must be completed and passed BEFORE you attend the practical course day at the course centre.
