The training shall provide competence in:
- Search and rescue
- Use of extinguishing agents
- Protective equipment
- Weather reporting, communication and routines
- Dangerous goods
- Aviation fuel
- Emergency situations and normal operations on helicopter decks
After completing the training, the participant must be able to:
- Carry out search and rescue with the correct use of fire-fighting and protective equipment
- Use proper extinguishing and protective equipment to extinguish a fire
- Use protective equipment and smokediver equipment correctly, as well as perform safety checks of the equipment
- Use the helideck manual
- Carry out communication and weather reporting by helicopter
- Handle dangerous goods
- Describe and perform inspections of the fuel system
- Perform HLO's tasks in emergency situations and normal operations on helicopter decks
Knowledge requirement:
- Search and rescue basic training
- HLO basic training
This course is conducted as a combination course with Offshore Norways Search and Rescue refresher course and Helicopter Landing Officer refresher course. Duration of the course is 3 days.
- 1 day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours of effective teaching
- 1 hour is 60 minutes
The e-learning of dangerous goods must be completed outside the course center, and must be completed before the last course day.
Persons who are members of both search and rescue teams and HLO-teams.
