The training shall provide competence in:

- Weather reporting, communication and routines

- Emergency situations and normal operations on helicopter decks
After completing the training, the participant must be able to:
- FRC:
- Be able to launch, hook in, operate boat and equipment in a satisfactory manner
- Master the most common search methods
- Perform pick-up of person in the sea and be able to perform MOB boat crew functions
- Search and rescue and HLO
- Carry out search and rescue with the correct use of fire-fighting and protective equipment
- Use proper extinguishing and protective equipment to extinguish a fire
- Use protective equipment and smokediver equipment correctly, as well as perform safety checks of the equipment
- Use the helideck manual
- Carry out communication and weather reporting by helicopter
- Handle dangerous goods
- Describe and perform inspections of the fuel system
- Perform HLO's tasks in emergency situations and normal operations on helicopter decks
FRC basic course, Search and rescue team and HLO basic course.
Personnel who have a smoke diver function in search and rescue teams must submit valid documentation of a health examination and physical tests (fitness test and strength requirements).
This course can be completed as a combination course with Offshore Norways Helicopter Landing Officer refresher course, the duration of the course is then 4 days.
- 1 day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours of effective teaching
- 1 hour is 60 minutes
Night time operation of FRC is carried out in the evening, after dark.
The e-learning of dangerous goods must be completed outside the course center, and must be completed before the last course day.
