The training shall provide competence in:
- The emergency response organization, command conditions and crisis reactions
- Basic introduction lifeboat
- Mustering, preparation and evacuation
- Alternative evacuation means
After completing the training, the participant must be able to;
- Describe the organization of emergency preparedness on offshore installations, as well as the purpose of such an organization
- Prepare lifeboat for evacuation
- Organize and lead mustering and boarding
- Communicate via radio, internally in the lifeboat and with the emergency management
- Launch lifeboat from facility and lead lifeboat in safe zone
- Maneuver a lifeboat and arrange for stays on board at sea
- Handle emergency systems and equipment adapted to different conditions on board a lifeboat
- Describe release and safe evacuation using alternative evacuation means; raft and escape chute
Practical training are carried out in a simulator, which means that you can train safely under marginal conditions, and that you achieve many exercises and thus receive valuable amount of training as a lifeboat coxswain.
- Basic safety training.
- VHF / SRC certificate
Course duration: 4 days.
- 1 day is 8 hours with a minimum of 6 hours of effective training
- 1 hour is 60 minutes
