Advance Rescue Refresh Training

The Refresh Course in Advance Rescue Training is designed to update and reinforce the essential skills necessary for performing injured person rescue operations in Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs). This course ensures that participants remain proficient in utilizing industry-standard rescue equipment, methods, and techniques that exceed the requirements set forth by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) for Working at Height.

Training Objectives

• Refreshing Rescue Techniques in WTG Hub, Spinner, and Blades
  Participants will revisit and enhance their skills in conducting rescue operations within the turbine’s hub, spinner, and blades. The refresh course will focus on safe and effective techniques for managing various emergency situations.

• Reviewing Rescue Operations in Nacelle, Tower, and Basement
  The training will cover the nuances of performing rescue operations in the nacelle, tower, and basement. Participants will discuss specific challenges and best practices to ensure safe rescues, reinforcing their knowledge of these critical areas.

• Single Rescuer Advanced Rescue Operations
  Participants will have the opportunity to refresh their abilities to carry out advanced rescue operations as a single rescuer in high-pressure environments, including the hub, spinner, and blades. This segment will emphasize situational awareness and decision-making under stress.

• Advanced Single Rescuer Operations in Nacelle, Tower, and Basement
  The course will also provide an opportunity for participants to practice and refine their skills in conducting advanced single rescuer operations in the nacelle, tower, and basement, utilizing appropriate rescue equipment and methods.

Upon successful completion of the Refresh Course in Advance Rescue Training, participants will be fully equipped to access and rescue injured individuals from all sections of the wind turbine. This course can be delivered independently or as part of a broader training program tailored to the needs of the participant or organization.

Note: After completing the ART-R training, the participants receive both an MHR and WAHR certificate.

Certificate Validity Period

• The certificate is valid for 24 months.
• Participants must renew certificates and training records before the expiration date.
• If a certificate expires, participants will need to complete the full Advanced Rescue training to obtain a new training record.

Prerequisites

Target audience

Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields. Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or their workplace duty holder as a function, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate of the identified risks.
