Introduction to Fall Protection
The course duration is approximately 6 hours and consists of about 50% theory and 50% practical training.
The main goal of the course is to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills for the safe use of fall protection equipment.
There is a requirement to use a safety harness when working at heights over 2 meters.
This course meets the training requirements for personnel who will use fall protection equipment, both onshore and offshore.
No prior knowledge is required. The fall protection course can be expanded with other modular training as needed.
The requirements covered in this course are as follows:
- The Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (Regulations).
- The Petroleum Safety Authority, NORSOK, and Norwegian Oil and Gas Association.
The training includes:
- Risk assessment for work at heights.
- Loads and falls.
- Attachment and anchoring.
- Introduction to the use of harnesses, lanyards, vertical safety ropes, and fall blocks, along with practical exercises in their use.
- Maintenance, inspection, and storage of equipment.
- Product training for fall protection harnesses.
