Enhanced First Aid
Our Enhanced First Aid (EFA) course empowers participants with essential skills to deliver effective, short-term care to injured or ill individuals in the industry, specifically in remote or high-risk environments. Designed for those working in sectors like the wind turbine generator (WTG) field, this course provides the knowledge and hands-on practice necessary to confidently administer first aid while awaiting emergency response teams.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will develop key competencies, including:
- Administering Lifesaving First Aid
Attain the confidence and skills to deliver immediate, safe, and effective lifesaving measures specific to the WTG environment. (Intermediate Ability Level)
- Providing Independent Assistance in Remote Locations
Learn to act independently in remote areas, equipped to utilize advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation when necessary. (Intermediate Ability Level)
Course Topics:
Participants will cover the following essential topics:
- Introduction to the Training
- Risk and Hazard Identification, Legislation
- Anatomy and Physiology Basics
- Incident Management and Emergency Response
- Primary & Secondary Survey Techniques for Enhanced First Aid
- Pain Management and Use of Additional Medications
- Scenario-Based Enhanced First Aid Exercises
This course blends theoretical knowledge with practical scenarios, preparing participants to respond effectively and with confidence to a range of emergency situations.
Certificate Validity Period:
- The certificate issued upon completion is valid for 24 months.
- Certificates and training records must be renewed before the end of this validity period.
- If a certificate expires, the participant must complete the full Enhanced First Aid training to obtain a new training record.

GWO - Basic Safety Training

Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and who will have duties to fulfil in a wind turbine environment, as well as usually being in physical contact with a wind farm environment or an offshore wind structure make up the target group.
Personnel that are selected by their employer to perform enhanced first aid onshore or offshore, where training according to the GWO Enhanced First Aid training may enable them to react to incidents and thus mitigate the results of casualties deriving from the identified risks.
